To me the best definition is when the entire New York Times entertainment department, over hundreds, voted unanimously Denzel Washington the best actor of the 21st century.

Same with a very inexperienced Barack Obama getting the nomination over Hillary Clinton in 2008. She was way more experienced, and had more primary votes, but the woke sentiment to elect a black man was overwhelming. Top democrats were pressured to support him, or look like they were holding a black man down. Hillary was talked into stepping down. Even when she was winning. But the pressure on Hillary, a white woman looking like she was holding her thumb on the scale against a black was too much. She relented.
That had huge consequences. In 2016 instead on Obama running against Trump it was Hillary. And there is no way the far left, Bernie and the bros, would have turned against Obama like they did Hillary. Thats woke. That’s why we have Trump!
Woke did it. Instead of hiring the best woke cause democrats to hire someone far less qualified. Obama would have been a much better president after 8 yrs as Hillary’s VP. He allowed Russia to take Crimea. He allowed Trump to say, “Russia are you listening.” Hillary would not have.
So here we are now. That was the consequence of woke.
