Club Random began as an experiment to see if the podcast could be taken to a different level, by capturing, for everyone to see, the exact conversations that happen between me and my friends, or between me and people I was anxious to get to know—just as they would be if there were no cameras. That’s why, as far as the guests go, there are no cameras—because they’re hidden in the walls. Get a drink or a joint in people in that setting, add my thirty years of experience getting people to feel quickly comfortable in an interview, and the result is the most intimate conversation anywhere.
When I stand up to wrap up an episode, the most common reaction from the guests has been: no one wants to leave. Over and over we hear after it ends, that it really was that much more fun and different than any “interview” they’ve ever done. And so, we usually just keep talking! So now we’re giving the fans that too! I thank everyone, deeply, for the support they’ve shown for this podcast, and hope you enjoy the extras here on Substack.
