Ok, some people are hyperbolically overreacting to this, but I kind of see their point to be honest. Sorry but, in my opinion you need to stop trying to normalize propagandists. It’s a cringeworthy look for someone with your brains. It just is. Kirk is someone who helped foment and excuse insurrection. So… he can act normal when not propagandizing. And..? We know he’s not a Trumpist robot 24/7. We know he’s a person who chooses to propagandize and divide and grossly diminish the discourse with lies and misrepresentations. That's his job. "Oh, but there’s more to him and I also push back on his BS for your edification!" Seriously..? That’s your big “gotcha” with Trump and his cheerleaders, that you show us they’re people, as you take them on, or that you happen to have some shared views on wokeness? Who GAF? This sort of thing is beneath you and we aren’t children who need people explained to us. I miss pre-posturing Bill. Whether we agreed or not he was always cogent and interesting. Causal small talk with worthy people can be as well. But this isn’t. I have no interest in seeing this a-hole's softer side, and I think most would agree, whether you leaven it with criticisms or not. And pointing out how objectively "smart" he can be? Not the big edifying reveal you seem to think it is, Bill.
After 25 years of being a huge fan — saw Bill at Carnegie Hall — I’m u following, and won’t be watching RealTime anymore. What’s become of Bill in his old age makes me sad. He’s become everything that he used to despise. What a pity.
Same here — I was paying for HBO just to watch him. It’s so disappointing that he’s shifted so far to the right and even tried to normalize Trump, the same man who once wanted to sue him over a joke about his father. I just hope most independents don’t fall for his constant attacks on Democrats or buy into the idea that MAGA is somehow normal.

For a man who built his celebrity by brandishing an in your face, tell it like it is, no bullshit personae to have acted surprised at how untrumpian president Trump was at dinner, struck me as utterly disingenuous and insulting to his many fans. It’s impossible for me to believe that he doesn’t know that malignant narcissists and sociopaths are capable of effecting charm, graciousness and generosity when it’s in their interests to do so. If there’s anything that we know for certain about Donald Trump it’s that he is brilliant at getting over on people. C’mon Bill. You didn’t know that? Well, of course you did. And that’s why it should be obvious to all that your “report” was an effort to keep the president off your tail.
Hi Bill, I really enjoyed your show with Charlie Kirk, despite not knowing him well. It was so respectful and thoughtful, especially coming from such different anchor points in your respective lives. The only thing I would have changed was the sunglasses you wore. They felt distancing, a bit like watching Robert Michum on Dick Caverltt in 1971. I hope it doesn't become some sort of trademark for you. But that's a nit. Great show!!!
